Fields of Hemp Review

Located in the heart of hemp country, Oregon-based Fields of Hemp is as passionate about hemp as you are. It grows the best organic crops, tests every batch, and sells hand-trimmed and machine-trimmed buds to customers across the United States.

Hemp Flower Varietals

Oregon is home to some of the country’s most popular hemp strains, many of which were initially bred there and continue to flourish there. It’s thought that the warm days and cool nights of spring and summer are what make the Beaver State perfect for industrial hemp. Whatever the reason, farms like Fields of Hemp are never short on high-quality, top-shelf hemp.

Most of its buds are sourced directly from the company’s own farms, where they are hand-trimmed and carefully packed before making their way to eager consumers. Some, however, are sourced from neighboring farms and are machine-trimmed in preparation for wholesale orders.

At around $50 to $80 per ounce, these bulk buds are a little cheaper and may contain more seeds than usual, but you’re still getting a good strain and a lot of CBD.

If you’re looking for cheap bud, keep an eye out for deals on the previous year’s harvest. Depending on how long you leave it and how much demand there is, you can pick up a pound of flowers for between $100 and $130.

You can’t get much cheaper than that.

Whether you’re buying high-grade flowers from this year’s harvest or bulk flowers from last year’s, you can generally find the following strains at Fields of Hemp:

  • AC/DC: A strain that is almost as impressive as the band after which it’s named. Fields of Hemp’s AC/DC contains more than 14% CBD and delivers a surprisingly mild and thoroughly enjoyable smoke.
  • Bubba Remedy: Produced by a neighboring farm, Bubba Remedy has a unique terpene profile, along with relaxing and uplifting effects.
  • Cherry Wine: A cross between The Wife and Charlotte’s Cherries, this fruity and complex strain promises nearly 16% CBD.
  • Bubba Kush: Over 13% CBD, aromas of chocolate and coffee, and that familiar Kush sedation—you know what you’re getting with this one. The Fields of Hemp Bubba Kush was actually from the previous year’s harvest at the time of this review, but it might make another appearance in future years.
  • Elektra: An Oregon classic that was produced by combining AC/DC and Early Resin Berry.
  • Hawaiian Haze: Notes of wet earth and fragrant herbs combine with strong tropical flavors and nearly 18% CBD.
  • Lifter: Not sure which strain to buy? Don’t have much experience? Lifter could be just what you’re looking for. It’s relaxing, but not sedating, and it’s uplifting, without being too pungent. It’s one of the state’s most popular strains, and not without reason.
  • Remedy: An Indica-leaning hybrid bred from Afghan Skunk and Cannatonic, Remedy. So-named because of its effects.
  • Therapy: Soothe those aches and pains with this uniquely bred strain.
  • Sour Space Candy: As sweet and tangy as sour candy, this strain was bred from Sour Tsunami and Early Resin Berry. It’s loaded with 16% CBD.
  • Riley’s Gift: Added to the Fields of Hemp range in 2020, Riley’s Gift was derived from Sour Tsunami and contains over 15% CBD.
  • Grumpy Grandpa: Another new addition to the 2020 range, the strain they dub “Grumpy Grandpa” is high in CBD and flavor.
  • Purple Fields Tonic: Although the CBD content is quite low, measuring less than 9% in total, this strain has a distinctive aesthetic and some unique flavors. It’s a perfect addition to your “wake and bake” stash.
