A Guide to CBD Moon Rocks

If hemp flowers aren’t strong enough for you and kief simply doesn’t cut it, CBD moon rocks could be the answer.

The term “moon rock” is used to describe nuggets of potent hemp/marijuana that can be smoked, vaped, or eaten. These little golden nuggets are loaded with cannabinoids and typically focus on THC or CBD.

In this guide, we’ll look at CBD moon rocks, showing you how they are made, why/if you should buy them, and what you need to look for.

What are CBD Moon Rocks?

We like to think of CBD moon rocks in the same context as a Turducken (a duck stuffed with a chicken) or a KFC Double Down. You’re taking the good stuff and adding a little more—layer upon layer upon layer.

The difference is that you don’t feel like you’ve just murdered half the animal kingdom and moved closer to cardiac arrest. It’s the purest CBD, so it’s all good, although it might be a little harsh on your lungs.

You begin with a premium hemp flower, one that contains a high concentration of CBD or CBG. This is then dipped into concentrated hemp/CBD oil, before being rolled in kief.

You get more bang for your buck, as CBD moon rocks often contain up to 50% CBD, along with a spectrum of other cannabinoids and terpenes.

Can CBD Moon Rocks Get You High?

Everyone responds differently, but if you experience any sedating or euphoric effects from hemp flowers and CBD oil, you should notice the same effects when you ingest CBD moon rocks.

They contain only trace amounts of THC, the chemical responsible for producing the “high” associated with marijuana. As a result, you won’t get the same results, but you may notice sensations of calm and relaxation.

Moon rocks may also help to soothe pain and combat insomnia.

What Are the Effects of CBD Moon Rocks?

The effects depend on the strain, the ingredients, and the user. As CBD moon rocks contain high concentrations of cannabinoids, they often produce more sedative effects and could help you relax, unwind, and sleep soundly.

As noted above, it really all comes down to the user, but research suggests that many of the compounds found in CBD moon rocks, including CBD itself, can produce feelings of calm and even euphoria.

How Can I Make Moon Rocks at Home?

You don’t need expensive equipment to make CBD moon rocks, but unless you’re growing your own hemp, you will need to buy all of the ingredients separately. As a result, you probably won’t save much money by making your own, but you will have more control over the process and the ingredients.

Just grab some of your favorite flowers, use a dropper to coat them in oil/concentrate, roll them in kief, and wait for the product to dry.

Review of The Best CBD Moon Rocks

On a gram per gram basis, CBD moon rocks are more expensive than hemp flowers. That’s because they are a purer product and are more expensive to produce.

You can expect to pay around $20 to $30 per eighth on average, but everything from the quantity to the quality will be reflected in the price.

Some of the best CBD moon rocks we have encountered are sold by the following retailers, but this is by no means a complete list and there are many more great options out there:

  • Try Plain Jane
  • Organic CBD Nugs
  • Black Tie CBD
  • Hip Hemp Café
  • Dr. Strains CBD
  • Five Leaf Wellness
  • Fern Valley Farms

The Best Way to Consume CBD Moon Rocks

For maximum effects, moon rocks should be smoked in a pipe or bowl.

Don’t try to break them down in a grinder, as the kief will fall through the mesh. Simply add some flower to a bowl, break off a chunk of moon rock, and add it to the top. When you light the bowl and take a draw, the rock will gradually melt into the flower and give you an extra kick.
