CBD Coffee

What is CBD coffee and why has it become so popular?

A combination of CBD and coffee presents one with the unique opportunity to enjoy an uplifted and energized morning. This is because both coffee and CBD are mood boosters and natural antidepressants. In other words, those who tend to have issues getting out of bed may be able to improve their mornings with CBD coffee.

So, what exactly is CBD coffee and can you make it at home?

What Is CBD Coffee?

CBD coffee, also referred to as hemp coffee, is just what the name implies; coffee that has been infused with cannabidiol (CBD) from hemp flower. Some CBD retailers sell this in sachets while others recommend adding CBD oil to your cup of home brewed coffee. Regardless, because CBD oil is lipophilic it does not dissolve readily in coffee, so be prepared to see the CBD particles floating on the surface of your coffee.

As you will learn later in this article, you could go the extra mile to prepare your own CBD coffee from scratch. Choose the method that works best for you.

How Much Does CBD Coffee Cost?

Most CBD coffee retailers will sell a cup of CBD infused coffee for less than 10 dollars. The price is determined by several factors such as the brand of CBD, the concentration of CBD, the type of coffee, and the other ingredients that have been added to the coffee.  For example, it may contain flavors such as vanilla, caramel, or chocolate.

Does CBD Coffee Do Anything?

Caffeine is a stimulant, which is why many people take it when they want to stay awake. However, it may also cause jitters and mild anxiety, especially when consumed in high amounts. On the other hand, CBD causes relaxation and helps to improve mood. Taking CBD coffee could help to create stimulation while causing relaxation at the same time.

Different users have reported different effects after consuming CBD coffee, but, for most, it was a good way to start the day.

CBD coffee also brings CBD’s strong anti-anxiety and stress- relieving benefits to the table. As a result, those who wake up stressed or anxious can use CBD coffee to calm down. Other benefits of CBD coffee include:

  • Promoting sleep
  • Relieving nausea and vomiting
  • Pain and inflammation relief
  • Treatment of acne
  • Anti-seizure benefits
  • Improving heart health

Does CBD Coffee Get You High?

CBD coffee has stimulating properties but it will not get you high. The compound that is responsible for the typical “cannabis-high” is known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD Lacks this effect because it doesn’t contain enough THC to make you high, and it does not bind directly to the cannabinoid receptors that are located in the brain.

How to Make CBD Coffee at Home

You can easily make your own CBD coffee at home if you have the time and ingredients at hand. The best part of this is that you will have full-control over all the ingredients that you use, so you can make it exactly how you like it.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 sachets of coffee (5 grams each)
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Half a gram of a hemp flower with high CBD content

 Steps

  • Crush the hemp flower into small particles using a grinder
  • Heat the 3 cups of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil
  • Let it cool to about 160 degrees celsius, the boiling point of CBD, add the crushed hemp flower to the water, and allow it to steep. Leave for about 40 minutes
  • Strain the liquid to eliminate the plant material and add your coffee sachets to the mixture

You can now enjoy your CBD coffee. If you are going to sweeten the coffee to remove the bitter taste, go for all natural sweeteners and flavors. Expect to wait for at least 40 minutes to one hour before you start to feel the effects of the CBD.
